Our commission, according to Matthew 28, is “…Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you,…” We believe that we must meet the physical needs in our community as we strive to share the gospel in the Watauga area. The Sharing CHRISTmas project enables the members of FBC Watauga, in partnership with Christmas Providers and First United Methodist Church of Watauga and El Buen Samaritano, to meet specific needs of families in our community. This ministry provides groceries for families in need, gifts for each child in those families, and information about Christ to all who are open. If you would like to help in this ministry throughout the year, or during the holiday season, please contact the church office or any Sharing CHRISTmas Committee member listed below:.
You are encouraged to join in the Sharing CHRISTmas 2010 ministry by donating a turkey, food, gifts for a child, and/or a financial gift. There are many opportunities to volunteer your time, including:
- adopt a child on Nov. 14th, 21st, 28th or Dec 5th, and purchase one Need gift and one Wish gift for that child
- sort & box donated food at First United Methodist Church of Hurst on Dec. 6th, 7th, or 8th (FBC will volunteer as a group on Dec. 7th)
- sort family gifts on Dec. 9th at FBC at 10 a.m.
- deliver gifts & food boxes on Saturday, Dec. 11th at 10 a.m.
May our God bless you as you minister in His name through Sharing CHRISTmas.
