Discipleship

Our Sunday night discipleship in the Spring and Fall takes place each Sunday night from 6:00-7:30. There are also some classes and groups that meet on other nights during the week. We offer a wide selection of discipleship opportunities that are truly for everyone. We strongly encourage our members to participate in one of our small groups led by our church members who are seeking to make disciples. We also offer a wide range of classes on a 6 or 12 week basis that are based on varying topics. Those who are not connected to one of our small groups or discipleship classes can attend our Bible Study class taught by our Pastor, Br. Dennis Hester.

Childcare and Youth

We offer nursery care for children up to pre-K on Sunday nights from 5:45-7:45.

For children K-6 we are offering a new program called Creative Worship Arts that incorporates studies on missions, worship, and features a children's choir and drama group. For more info, please refer to our children's page.

Our youth also have discipleship on Sunday nights at he same time as the adults. For more info on youth discipleship, please refer to our student page.

One-on-one and Small Group Discipleship

Presently several of our adult leaders have partnered with younger believers to facilitate there growth in Christ. These Paul-Timothy relationships provide the most fertile place for consistent growth. If you are interested in serving as a mentor or you are looking for a mentor or small group, please contact someone on our pastoral staff for direction

Our Small Group Discipleship is the heart of our church's discipleship ministry. The purpose of these groups is to help each other to become more like Christ through building relationships and studying God's word. Our small groups require a covenantal commitment and these groups meet for an indefinite period of time. We believe that these groups will practice "disciple-making" as true followers of Christ teach and exhort each other to be more like Christ himself. Below is a diagram of how our small groups are intended to function:

The idea behind this model is the idea of concentric circles. In other words, each of the 5 levels work together but you can't achive the level of accountability without going through the other levels. We seek to build relationships for the purpose of becoming more like Christ, not just becoming better friends.

Biblical Basis for the 5 Levels of Small Group Discipleship
  • Level 1: Fellowship
“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10
  • Level 2: Teaching/Learning
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” 2 Timothy 2:2
  • Level 3: Prayer
”Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” James 5:16
  • Level 4: Communication
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25
  • Level 5: Accountability
“Just as Iron sharpens Iron so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17
”And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:24
