Who We Are
FBCW was organized in 1939, as Watauga Baptist Church. On April 2, 1959 our name was changed to The First Baptist Church of Watauga. The church has a history of being innovative in its efforts to reach people with the Good News of real life in Jesus Christ.
We at FBCW have faced some dramatic challenges in the past few years. God has forged a new vision and a renewed excitement for spreading the gospel in the church through an entirely new ministerial staff. We believe that He has uniquely positioned us to have a dramatic impact on our community. New ministries are being developed regularly, and new excitement fills the air each week.
God has called us to carry the Good News of our Savior to our neighbors in Watauga, Northeast Tarrant County, Texas, and around the world. To fulfill this mission, we work together with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Tarrant Baptist Association and the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention.
We believe that Jesus Christ provides us with the resources for a full and meaningful life and unending future. The details for this LIFE are found in His Word. With this in mind, God’s Word provides the guide for all that we do at FBCW.
