Vision For Growth

A Successful Beginning!!!   B2K has been the most successful capitol improvement campaign in the history of our church!  During the late 1990’s, the church body donated over $345,000 to begin and complete Phase I of the B2K project.  This phase of B2K, followed a time of prayer about how to best fullfil our God-given mission.  Once the church committed to remain at its previous location, we begin to aquire property and make necessary improvements to move us into the future.  Phase I involved the purchase of property, a new parking lot, payment in full of existing mortgages, addition of new doors, landscaping, an underground sprinkler system, and the large sign facing Watauga Road.  All of these projects were completed and paid for in a short period of time!!!

The Next Step  After a time of regrouping, FBC successfully completed Phase III of the B2K vision. In this phase, the main sanctuary was renovated from top to bottom; the main office and the north entrance to the church got a complete face lift. New carpet was laid through out the downstairs’ area that included the main hallway, service area and stairwells. The service area and kitchen were remodeled. The overall downstairs area now gives the appearance of a modern 21st century church, open to all age groups and ready to go forward as God directs.  Shortly after finishing the main parts of Phase III, a large piece of property on Watauga Road became available to the church that is a key to future expansion.
