Acts 1:8 says "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." FBC Watauga has committed to be an "Acts 1:8 church". This means that everything we do serves to fullfil this vision. The following are some of the ways that we are reaching out to our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth.
Prison Ministry - The men of FBC Watauga are directly involved with ministry to prisons in the state of Texas. Several of the men also partner with Bill Glass Ministries to serve in weekend events throughout the year.
Partnerships - In recent years, teams from FBC Watauga have served in South Dakota, Arizona, Colorado, and Oklahoma. FBCW also partnered with FBC Gretna, LA following hurricane Katrina. The church regularly seeks God's direction to serve "on mission" in North America.
Annie Armstrong - Each year our church participates in the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering and Week of Prayer for North American missions (which will be March 2-9, 2008).
Unidos - Lima, Peru - FBCW has serve alongside IMB missionaries in Lima, Peru since 2008.
Lottie Moon - Every December, FBCW participates in the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and Week of Prayer for International missions. For the past several years, FBCW has given generously to support mission efforts around the globe.
Billy & Debbie Hurst - In 2013, FBCW saw one of our own families return to the mission field of central America. Billy & Debbie Hurst, along with their kids Hanna and Luke, are serving in Theological Education in Guatemala. As their sending church, we prayerfully support them however we can.
